Vancouver Beach

Spanish Bank Extension
Location: West of Spanish Bank West on NW Marine Dr.
Located on the Seaside Seawall system, the Spanish Bank Extension offers free parking, permits bbq's, and has lifeguards on duty from Victoria Day (which is in late May) to Labour Day (which is in early September).

Spanish Bank West
Location: West of Spanish Bank East on NW Marine Dr.
Located on the Seaside Seawall system, the Spanish Bank West is a designated "quiet beach" which means loud amplified music is prohibited.  This beach also contains food concessions, washrooms, bbq's are permitted, picnic tables, lifeguards, and free parking.  In addition, there is an area where dogs don't have to kept on a leash.

Spanish Bank East
Location: West of Tolmie St. on NW Marine Dr.
Located on the Seaside Seawall system,  the Spanish Bank East offers food concessions, washrooms, picnic tables,  bbq's, lifeguards are on duty from Victoria Day to Labour Day, and free parking.

Locarno Beach
Location: West of Discovery to Tolmie St. on NW Marine Dr.
A designated "quiet beach", Locarno Beach is an excellent beach for vacationers looking for a relaxing day at the beach.  Large evergreen trees situated along the beach provide some shade during the hottest of days.

Jericho Beach
Location: Between north ends of Wallace and Discovery St.
A popular beach for activities, Jericho's natural sandy beach offers great swimming and water activities for beachgoers.  The east side of the beach is designated for swimming while the west side is for sailboats, windsurfers and other water type vehicles.  Jericho Beach offers food concession stands, play fields, tennis courts, picnic tables, and the Jericho Sailing Centre.  Visitors must pay for parking.

Kitsilano Beach
Location: Waterfront north end of Yew St.
Kitsilano Beach is a popular beach for the younger crowd and is a great beach for activities.  Kitsilano Pool, an oceanside heated outdoor pool, is located on Kitsilano Beach.  In addition, there are tennis and basketball courts, a playground, concession stands, and a washroom.  The Watermark on Kits Beach Restaurant is also located at Kitsilano Beach.  Visitors must pay for parking.

Sunset Beach
Location: East of English Bay on Beach Ave. between Thurlow and Bute Sts.
A less populated beach and a designated "quiet beach", Sunset Beach is situated at the mouth of False Creek.  It is on the Stanley Park Seawall system, provides concession stands, washrooms, and access to False Creek Aqua Buses Pier.  Located nearby Sunset Beach is the Vancouver Aquatic Centre which is Vancouver Canada's Olympic sized natatorium.  Visitors must pay for parking.

English Bay
Location: Beach Ave. between Gilford St. and Bidwell St.
Also known as First Beach, English Bay is the most popular and crowed beach in downtown Vancouver.  English Bay offers food concession stands, washrooms, bbq's, beach volleyball courts, and kayak rentals.  Visitors must pay for parking.

Second Beach
Location: Stanley Park at North Lagoon Dr.
Another favorite and popular beach with Vancouver locals, Second Beach offers all the usual amenities as the other beach in addition to an oceanside outdoor pool which is heated.  Visitors must pay for parking.

Third Beach
Location: Stanley Park north of Ferguson Point
While located close to downtown Vancouver, Third Beach is a quiet and relaxing beach shielded by the hustle and bustle of Vancouver by Stanley Park's forest, located right behind the beach.  Third Beach offers all the amenities other beaches offers.  Visitors must pay for parking.
